    3rd Annual Legos© Contest Kids

    Calling all Legos© enthusiasts! Enter the Oxnard Public Library's 3rd Annual Legos© Contest! From March 4 - April 18, pre-K through 8th grade children may enter this hugely popular contest. Participants will use their own Legos© or Duplo© for their creations. Super prizes for 1st, 2nd and 3rd place winners and everyone who participates will receive a certificate of participation. Stop by the Children's Desk at the Main Library to pick up a copy of the Rules and to get more information.

    History of Hats & Victorian Tea

    Debbie McIntosh will show us the original purposes for wearing hats and how they evolved into high fashion. Then we will discover the origin and finer points of Victorian Tea. Attendees are welcome to join in the fun by wearing a hat from their own personal collection.

    If you are interested in becoming a tutor in our Adult Literacy Outreach Program, please plan to attend these two Saturday training sessions on April 6 from 1 - 4pm in Meeting Room A and April 20 from 9:30am - 12:30pm in Meeting Room B.     Booksigning for Jeff Maulhardt’s “Legendary Locals of Oxnard”

    Jeffrey Wayne Maulhardt will launch his newest book Legendary Locals of Oxnard at the main library. He will take us back in time for a glimpse at some of the unsung heroes and the notorious personalities who settled and worked the Oxnard plain. After his talk, Maulhardt will be happy to sign copies of his book, which will be available for purchase at the Library Gift Shop.

    Friends of the Library Semi-Annual Meeting

    Learn about the Teatro de las Americas from executive director Dr. Margaret Cortese as she shares the history and mission of this theater group that performs plays written predominantly by Spanish and Latin American playwrights. You'll also hear about the new play they will be performing at the Black Box Theater at Oxnard College in June. This event is free to all courtesy of the Oxnard Friends of the Library Foundation.
