    Celebrate Independence Day with a movie about a crew of African-American pilots in the Tuskegee Training Program during World War II. Having been kept mostly on the ground due to segregation, they are finally called into duty. Adults are welcome to join this movie audience.

    Protecting Yourself from Mail Fraud

    Postal Inspector Renee Focht from the U.S. Postal Inspection Service will give an illustrated presentation on the four most common mail fraud schemes that con artists attempt to perpetrate on the public: foreign lotteries, investment opportunities, charities, and identity theft. Ms. Focht will explain how you can protect yourself from having your money taken by unscrupulous mail scammers, and the knowledge you gain will empower you to evaluate similar frauds you receive via email.

    “Fascinating Rhythms: The Music of George and Ira Gershwin”

    Bruce Collins will discuss the legendary Gershwin brothers and play samples of some of their most memorable songs such as “Summertime” from Porgy and Bess and “Rhapsody in Blue.” Ira was the first lyricist to win a Pulitzer Prize for a song. After their deaths, Congress awarded them the Congressional Gold Medal for their contributions to American music.
